Lotus Tuber Care
Lotus requires a large growing area. Get a large pot. A pot with no holes is best. Fill pot ¾ full with a good clay soil for best results. Bag top soil from your local retailer will do in a pinch. Do not use top soil that includes a lot of organic matter or manure; just straight top soil. Wet soil and mix until a thick soupy mix.

Place tuber in the palm of your hand. Protect the growing tips with your hand.

Wiggle tuber in your hand into the soil. Again protect the growing tips.

Leave just the tip visible.

Fill pot with water. Keep pot filled with water. For best results let pot sit outside your pond until roots anchor lotus tuber to the soil. This will take a week to ten days.
